Cynthia Osuji is one of the females out there who never relent or get suppressed by the prices that need to be paid to attain the greatest heights of their goals in life.
Cynthia who hails from Aboh Mbaise in Imo State is a model and graduate of Food Technology at Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri where she also won Miss Elegant Poly Nekede in 2015 and Miss Photogenic Nekede Owerri in 2016.
In this interview, Cynthia speaks on her music and modeling career.
May we meet you?
I’m Cynthia Osuji, a 23-year-old upcoming artist with stage name “Cynthia Ice” from Imo State. I’m into Afro-pop and dancehall music, I also do facial and advert modeling. I won Miss Elegant Polynek 2015, and Miss Photogenic Nekede Owerri 2016. I studied Food Technology at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri, Imo State.
As former Miss Elegant Poly Nekede and Miss Photogenic Nekede respectively, how did you feel emerging victorious among other contestants?
I felt honored and thankful to all my fans and was more confident in myself that I could win most things I contested for. But in as much as I love modeling, I love music even more, hence my choice of venturing into music full time. Since I am passionate about entertainment, I figured I might as well combine music with modeling.
When are we expecting your songs?
I have already released three tracks with names (Naija Vibe, Blow, and Mr. Player). I’m currently shooting a music video for Mr. Player which will be available soon.
How can your fans access your songs?
Knowing that there are the likes of Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and other good female artistes in the industry, are you hopeful of making a headway in the industry?
First of all, Tiwa Savage has been signed by an international record label. I believe I will be able to dominate the female circle because I bring uniqueness, and positive difference in the Nigerian music industry.
How has it been with you as a female upcoming artiste?
It hasn’t been easy I must say, but I have put in my all because it is worth every penny. And thanks to my family and friends for they have been very supportive financially, spiritually and mentally. Though I have been trying to get into a record label so as to lessen the financial burden on myself.
If you were given a chance to choose among record labels, where would you love to be signed in?
I would love to be signed into Marvin Records given that it has managed music icons like Tiwa Savage who is my role model and the likes of Johnny Drill, and the music boss himself, Don Jazzy. I believe I can be properly managed by Marvin Records. But I would also be honored if I am signed into very good labels like Flyboytexh of Kizz Daniel, DMW Record of Davido because those are the trending record labels in the country.
Do you think being a musician will not affect your passion for modeling?
No it won’t, rather it will help my modeling career in the sense that, getting contacts and endorsements will be easier
What do have to say to young girls who would love to join modeling or music industry?
I would advise them to follow their dreams and passion and not let the few bad eggs in the industry discourage them from pursuing their dreams. And they should always put in their best in whatever career path they choose.
Do you have anything to say to your music fans?
Yes, I’m saying stay tuned and keep downloading my songs and I promise to always produce hit songs for your listening pleasure. And also to follow me on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter @iamcynthiaice to always be updated on latest singles albums and giveaways of course because I believe in “love in sharing”.
