The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a businessman, Ugoh Christogonus Onyewuchi, and his company, C-PAC Integrated Service Nigeria, over alleged theft and retention of criminal proceeds totalling ₦215.8 million.

The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the EFCC brought the defendants before Justice Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, 13th October 2025.

According to the EFCC, Onyewuchi and his company were charged with two counts bordering on stealing and unlawful retention of funds, said to be proceeds of criminal conduct.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following the plea, the prosecution counsel requested that the case be set down for trial and that the defendants be remanded pending the determination of their bail application.

Justice Abike-Fadipe adjourned the matter to a later date for hearing.

The EFCC reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing financial crime cases vigorously, warning that those involved in misappropriation of funds will face the full weight of the law.
