FIFA Delivers Verdict On Nigeria’s Petition Against DR Congo Tuesday

The Federation of International Football Federation (FIFA) will which was scheduled to deliver its decision in the Nigeria, DR Congo case has deferred its ruling until Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the petition of Nigeria against DR Congo over qualification of the 2026 World Cup.

According to available information as at press time on Monday, other decisions would also be made public the same day.

FIFA Executive Council members are expected to give their verdict on the Nigeria versus DR Congo face-off and others today.

At the centre of the complaint are Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe and Stephy Mavididi, who reportedly represented DR Congo during the play-offs. The NFF has questioned whether their switches of international allegiance complied fully with FIFA regulations and whether their documentation met the required standards.
