The Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Sheikh Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, has resigned amid allegations of corruption

Pakistan resigned on Monday, February 9, 2025.

It would be recalled that Sheikh Pakistan was appointed in 2024 replacing Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi.

His resignation was the climax of issues trailing his watch over NAHCON including incompetence, maladministration and alleged corrupt practices.

The last straw, however, is the shoddy handling of this year’s hajj that may lead to the inability of many would-be pilgrims to perform the yearly pilgrimage.

A dependable source privy to the development squealed “Saudi authorities had earlier given Monday, February 9 as the last day for the capturing of the pilgrims’ papers.

“But by that date most pilgrims, medical and operational staff, among others, were yet to be captured as Chairman Pakistan continued to delay the finalization of the process.”
