Agidingbi Baaleship Tussle: Absence Of Defendants Stalls Trial

‎The absence of defendants in the ongoing Baaleship tussle in Agidingbi, Lagos have stalled the trial of the case again.

‎When the case came up for hearing on 7, July 2026, the defendants namely,The Hon.Commissioner , Ministry of Local Government and community Affairs,The Executive Governor of Lagos State,The Attorney general of Lagos State, Chairman Ikeja Local Government did not make any appearance or send any legal representation.

‎However the presiding Judge, Justice Adenike K.Shonubi adjourned the case to 21, October 2026 for  continuation.

‎The Baaleship tussle is a subject of an  ongoing trial before the Hon.Justice Adenike K.Shonubi of High Court of Lagos State in Ikeja Judicial division in a case between Chief Ishola Makanjuola, Chief Musibau Bakare, Chief Kayode Adesanya (Suing for themselves and council of  Baale in Agidingbi),Prince Jamiu Ojurongbe , Alhaji Ganiu Adeyemi as applicants and Mr.Ganiu Haruna(Deceased) and substituted with Abdul Wahab Tolulope Oladapo Mogaji,The Hon.Commissioner , Ministry of Local Government and community Affairs,The Executive Governor of Lagos State,The Attorney general of Lagos State, Chairman Ikeja Local Government as respondent.

‎A source close to the plantiffs revealed that the defendants have been playing a waiting game on the case which has been on for about ten years in an attempt to impose their candidate against the wish of the people.
