Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd) said on Friday night that Nigeria was passing through many challenges, but assured citizens that the current journey of the country through the wilderness would lead to a glorious end.
Speaking at this year’s edition of “Special Abuja Power Touch” programme, hosted by Pastor Matthew Morakinyo and his wife, Pastor Mary Morakinyo of the God’s City International Church (GCIC) entitled “All-Round Settlement” at the Valedrome of the National Stadium in Abuja, General Musa declared that nobody would be allowed to destroy Nigeria.
According to him, “We must unite against all enemies of Nigeria. We have a President who is doing his best to keep Nigeria united and great. Let us remain steadfast in prayer for the unity and survival of our dear country, Nigeria.

“So many evil people do not mean well for Nigeria, but one thing is sure; the Almighty God will put them all to shame.”
Musa, who served as the 18th Chief of Defence Staff from June 23, 2023 to October 30, 2025, and thereafter nominated as Defence Minister on December 4, 2025 by President Bola Tinubu, stated at the well-attended programme that the grace of God had kept him standing up until now.
He said : “This is the first time that I have come to this wonderful congregation. I never knew this programme was going to hold today until Pastor Israel came to my office today (February 27, 2026) and insisted that I should be here.
“I am happy to see here two retired Major Generals who were my mentors in the Army. I want to take this opportunity to state here loud and clear that I am a child of God not just by mouth but also by deed. My standing here could only have been by the mercy of God.”
Pastor Morakinyo, who was standing beside General Musa on the pulpit, prayed for Nigeria and President Tinubu, declaring that the insurgency in Nigeria was over, even as he decreed that stability would take its roots in the country.
Using the defence minister as a point of contact to the destiny of Nigeria, Pastor Morakinyo prayed that “there will be peace in our nation,” adding that General Musa would stand firm for God as he has been doing.
He prayed that there would be “peace and tranquility” before, during and after the 2027 general elections.
The programme featured song ministrations by Steve Crown, Leke Gospel and many other guest artistes; congregational praise and worship, spirit-lifting testimonies, special choir ministrations, daily devotional and special song presentation by Pastor Mrs Mary Morakinyo.
