Former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, is not enjoying the best of health and this is authoritative.

National WAVES gathered that  Ajimobi has contacted COVID-19 and doctors are battling to save his life. He is said to be in coma and hooked on the ventilator

The vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress is on admission in Lagos at the First Cardiology Consultants Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos..

Ajimobi was rushed to the hospital two weeks ago, a few days after he held a political meeting in Ibadan.

According to hospital sources, Ajimobi’s condition is said to be very bad.

A relation who visited him at the hospital on Monday burst into tears as he has failed to show any improvement.

Ajimobi, 70 years old, was a former managing director of National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum, Nigeria.

After 26 years in the company, he left to join politics.

He was first elected senator in 2003 as a member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

In 2007, he contested the governorship seat, but lost to Adebayo Alao-Akala.

He re- contested in 2011 under the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria and won.

He was re-elected in 2015.

In 2019, he lost his bid to return to the senate.

He is currently the national vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
