Dangote truck is at it again. This time, Dangote Cement truck rammed into a car belonging to a journalist, Comrade Erasmus Ikhide in a road traffic accident along Benin-Sapele Expressway in Benin City.
According to The Conclave Newspaper online, Mr. Ikhide escaped death by a whisker after the truck said to be on high speed lost control and rammed into Ikhide’s Toyota Salon car on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, causing it to somersault three times.
Luckily, the journalist escaped unhurt.
Ikhide who’s known for his critical investigative series, “Federal Republic Of Aliko Dangote,” which documents over a dozen fatal accidents involving the company’s trucks. This history has led to allegations that the collision was an attempted assassination meant to silence his reporting.
“This was not just an accident; it was an attempted murder in broad daylight,” a source close to the journalist stated. “The truck sped away without stopping, showing a complete disregard for life.”
This is not the first incident involving Dangote trucks in the last few months . NATIONAL WAVES had reported how Dangote truck hit Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma “Phyna”.
Otabor, reportedly undergone a leg amputation after being hit by a truck linked to Dangote Group near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.
The tragic accident occurred on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, just six days after Ruth graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.
According to eyewitnesses, the heavy-duty truck crushed her leg before it was eventually chased down and stopped by a bystander.
Another Dangote truck crashed into a Mercedes-Benz, killing three people and injuring one on August 18, 2025.
As if that was not enough calamity, another Dangote Cement truck crashed into five vehicles and a motorcycle, leaving 24 people injured at Odukpani Junction in Ondo State; and yet another Dangote truck lost control and rammed into traders and passersby, killing at least eight people and injuring many others in Asaba, Delta State.
