Senator Ned Nwoko
In a political clime defined by prebendal politics of self interest, greed, apathy to aspirations and needs of the people, it’s very rare to come across political sincerity and integrity that rise above primordial sentiments and a fidelity to the God of narcissism.
That is why this newspaper joins thousands of people prodding Senator Ned Nwoko to return to the Senate come 2027.
It’s the view of this medium that the National Assembly is neither a retirement home for politicians who have spent and built a career serving self instead of the people who voted them in; in whatever capacity. We understand that the hallowed Chambers have been made hollow by the high number of politicians – ex this, ex that – who have no legacy of good representation, but it’s equally true that not all eggs are rotten.
Senator Ned Nwoko who represents Delta North at the National Assembly is one of a handful senators and politicians who have redefined representation, and upped the ante of what sound leadership ought to be.
Without going into his untainted image as a statesman on national plane, his contribution to national life has positioned him as one of the architects of contemporary Nigeria’s life.
As a Senator, he has done much more for his people than any other Senator before him in terms of quality representation, projects and infrastructure that came to his people through his influence, not to talk of his sympathetic ears to multiple and individual needs of his constituents.
In a clime more saner than ours, Nwoko would have been governor of his State going by his contribution to the state, his zeal and enthusiasm for the public good, his philanthropy and use of his resources to better the lot of his people.
It would seem impossible to begin to list his achievements, but it’s unnecessary, given that they stand undeniable and are there for everyone to see.
Even his detractors and political enemies agreed on this, no wonder political attacks on him often avoid a hit on achievement and competence, rather they always hurl their missiles on the irrelevance.
On the strength of his unassailable competence and enviable representation, NATIONAL WAVES joins thousands of his admirers in Delta and beyond in advocating for his return to the Senate. For us at this newspaper, it’s a healthy call, Delta North wants Senator Ned Nwoko to continue his good work and good representation. He must contest in 2027 and the people of Delta North Senatorial District should reciprocate his enviable gestures by voting for him to continue the splendid representation. One good turn deserves another.
