Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday stormed the office of the acting managing director of the Port Harcourt Refinery, Mr. Jelili Ademoye, searched his office thoroughly and thereafter whisked him away in a waiting vehicle.
This happened barely few hours after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) boss removed the managing directors of its three state-owned refineries.
The NNPC had on Tuesday night sacked the Managing
Director of the Port Harcourt Refining Company Limited (PHRC), Ibrahim Onoja; Managing Director of Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Dr Mustafa Sugungun; and the Managing Director of Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited (WRPC), Efifia Chu.
NATIONAL WAVES gathered that the EFCC official arrived the Port Harcourt refinery between 1pm to 2pm ignored protocol and marched straight to Ademoye’s office.
Sources squealed that the EFCC officials came to ensure that the sacked Managing Director did not take anything away, including vital documents but on failing to meet Onoja in office, the officers took Ademoye.
