The All Progressive Congress (APC), has won five chairmanship positions namely namely Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abaji, Bwari, Kwali, and Kuje in the 2026 Area Council elections.
While the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won one local government, the Gwagwalada local government.
This much was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The elections, which involved six chairmen and 62 councillors, recorded relatively low voter turnout in many areas, but not without some alleged intimidation, votes selling and buying, although some election observers said the polls were largely peaceful.
