By Agency Report
The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Mr Olukayode Popoola, on Friday said section one of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway reconstruction/rehabilitation project was 70 per cent completed.
Popoola told the News Agency of Nigeria that 39 out of the 43.6 kilometres of section one of the highway, spanning from Ojota in Lagos to Sagamu Interchange, had been constructed to final layer.
“The total length achieved up to wearing course is about 39 kilometres out of 43.6 kilometres. That should be close to 70 per cent completion,’’ he said.
Also, in a statement, Popoola said construction works between Warewa and Arepo had been completed for diversion points to be removed.
NAN reports that the controller had on Sunday, Nov. 28, announced a six-day diversion on the one and half kilometres stretch for repairs.
