“Nigerian British businessman and social media influencer, Igho Ubiribo, underwent five penile filler procedures at a Bangkok clinic in March, with the final injection administered just a day before he died”, this is according to
Thai health authorities.
This much was released by the Department of Health Service Support (DHSS), under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health on Tuesday following an inspection of the clinic where the 43 year old known online as “Tiny,” “Denisi” and “Ego” received his last treatment.
According to the DHSS, the clinic reported that Ubiribo had been a regular patient since 2024, undergoing four procedures between then and 2025, with a fifth on March 5, 2026. That final session involved 40cc of filler, administered in a single injection despite the doctor recommending it be split across two sessions a preference Ubiribo insisted on, the clinic said. The statement noted he had signed consent forms before each procedure and reported no complications during follow-up care.
Officials said emergency responders were called to a private hospital in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area on March 5 after Ubiribo lost consciousness. His wife told medical staff he had received the filler injection earlier that day and later gone for a massage.
Suspecting a blood clot, doctors prepared to run a CT angiography scan, but he had no pulse by the time of the procedure; resuscitation efforts failed to revive him.
The clinic, located on Rama 1 Road in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district, was inspected on September 7 by DHSS officials working alongside Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration, on the direction of Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat. DHSS Director-General Phuwadej Surakhot said the agency would continue gathering evidence before referring the case to Thailand’s Medical Council for a ruling on professional conduct. No finding of malpractice has been announced.
The case had earlier been examined by a UK coroner, whose inquest linked Ubiribo’s death to a fatal pulmonary embolism caused by the procedure.
Roughly 40 millilitres of a hyaluronic acid and lidocaine mixture were injected during the treatment, after which Ubiribo reportedly experienced chest pain and collapsed twice while at a hotel massage session.
He was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital, where he lost consciousness before doctors could complete a planned CT scan; CPR efforts lasting over 100 minutes could not save him. A postmortem later found lung material consistent with the injected filler.
Aesthetic medicine physician Dr Mobola Savage cautioned after Ubiribo’s death that non-surgical procedures still carry serious risk, noting that penile filler involves highly vascular tissue and should not be considered risk-free.
She clarified that the procedure was a non-surgical augmentation aimed at increasing girth, distinct from conventional surgical enlargement.
Investigations in Thailand kremain ongoing as authorities assess whether the clinic and its practitioners met required medical standards.
