The Desert Warriors of Algeria on Tuesday defeated the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to book a place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where they will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The match ended goalless after regulation time.
Algeria got the victory in the extra time with a 1:0 win, keeping their AFCON campaign alive and setting up a high-profile quarter-final showdown against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
The clash against the Super Eagles is expected to be a stern test for the Desert Warriors, as both sides continue their quest for continental glory. The Algeria vs Nigeria quarter-final encounter will be played at the Marrakesh Stadium on January 10th.
As at the time of filing this report Ivory Coast were leading Burkina Faso 3-0
