The biological father of Umar Auwalu, the principal suspect in the killings of a housewife and her six children, Mallam Auwalu, has called for the speedy trial of his son and sentencing to death.
Malam Auwalu said that his son, Umar, was not fit to live.
Auwalu, who stated these when he featured on a Radio Station in Kano, urged the government to ensure a speedy trial of his son and sentencing to death in accordance with the law..
Auwalu said: “The likes of Umar, my son, should not be allowed in the society. They should be eliminated to allow for a sane environment.
“I’m suspecting that the same Umar is behind the killings of the Darayi Hausa wife’s junior sister sometimes last month,” he stated.
Auwalu, who spoke in Hausa language further said; “I’m quite sure that Umar has been committing several crimes which we were not aware of, but now that he has been arrested, he should be punished accordingly.
“I don’t want the government or the security agency to delay his trial because if he is allowed to stay in prison, one day some politicians will come and forgive him and that will not go down well with our society,” he declared.
It would be recalled that the Kano State Police Command arrested three suspects, Umar Auwalu, Isyaku Yakubu, and Yakubu Abdulaziz, in connection with the murder of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters, Kano.
The suspects were arrested during a sting operation, and the leader, Umar Auwalu, confessed to the crime, revealing the syndicate’s involvement in other attacks and killings.
The police recovered blood-stained clothes, the deceased’s mobile phones, a cutlass, a club, and money stolen from the scene. The police are continuing their investigation and have commended the public for their support and cooperation
