Mustapha Kwankwaso, son of Kwankwasiyya leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned his position as Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and as a member of the State Executive Council. This is just as Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)

Governor Yusuf said his decision to return to the APC was driven by the need to work more closely with the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to accelerate development in Kano State.

In a resignation letter dated Monday, Mustapha said the decision was taken with a “heavy heart,” while expressing gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State.

He said his time in office provided valuable experiences and lessons, and thanked the governor for the trust and confidence reposed in him.

The former commissioner also urged continued support and investment in youth empowerment and sports development in the state, praying that Kano youths would continue to receive the attention they deserve.
