An unprecedented crowd stormed Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State for the presidential campaign of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP).

The SDP presidential standard bearer, Prince Adewole Adebayo, who was ecstatic about the large turn out of his supporters who literally danced their hearts out at the venue said ” Politics is not for entertainment, we can dance but at the end of the day, the politician will enter his Mercedes Benz while you will enter danfo back home”

He reminded his supporters “that whatever is wrong with Nigeria’s politics is not wrong with Nigerian politicians”

The highly pragmatic Adebayo told his supporters that as they continue to dance the politicians think of his money in the bank and he would call his bank manager to know how many millions he has in his account while they will be looking for money to buy garri`

He urged voters to vote for the candidate who will fulfill his electoral promises.

He said some politicians are greedy, self-centered and that explains why they are eyeing the next office as soon as they are about to complete their tenure.

He said “Politicians are self centered, always thinking of how to be promoted. That is why you see, a member of the state assembly struggling to go to the House of Representatives, members of House of Representatives want to go to the Senate, Senators want to be governors and president, Governors want to go to Senate. They are always thinking of how to get promotion. When will you, the masses get your own promotion? Adebayo asked.

Prince Adebayo admonished his supporters to use the instrument at their disposal wisely.He added that the most powerful instrument at their disposal in politics is their brain and not their PVC.

Prince Adebayo stated that they should get their PVC but equally use their brain to vote the right candidate.

“People have told me that the most powerful instrument in politics is the PVC but I tell you the most powerful instrument as a voter is your brain. You may have the PVC and not use your brain to vote the right candidate, you can use your PVC to vote against your interest. You can sell your PVC worth N30 billion for N10,000. So, your most important instrument is your brain” said Adebayo.

He continued ” After dancing at the rally, when you get home, you ask yourself, these people that I met today, do they understand my situation, do they know how to run the government, do they have the fear of God and conscience at the loss of a man?

“Don’t look at my face, I can get someone to apply powder on my face, don’t look at my poster because that poster is the work of a photographer, what you should be looking at, is how can 2023 better your life. How to serve under a government run by human beings for Human beings because when human beings run the government, you will have water to drink, you will have ventilation, seven people will not pack themselves in a room, you will have a gainful job that you will not have to call your family for support anymore, your salary will be regular at the end of every month. If you are in the market, the market will be clean. If you sell your goods and make N50,000, local government will not collect the money from you. If you want to buy your market from Ajase, the bank will give you more money (loan) to buy more goods, so that your business can grow. Your children will not ask you for money when going to school because government would have made the school very free.

“When your Governor say there is no money in government, he is lying to you because if there is no money in government 25 vehicles will not be following the Governor, if there is no money in government, the Governor will resign after one year and go home. Why is he doing four years and after that, wants to come back again?

“They are saying there’s no money for you. They are very comfortable. People you see on this stage, don’t have problems, you have the problems. Make sure they don’t cheat you again and I pray to God that those who want to deceive you, God will not let them succeed and I also pray to God that if you want to deceive yourself, God will not allow you to deceive yourself, because for a politician to deceive you one time, you would have deceived yourself seven times” Adewole’s prayer got a thunderous Amen from the mammoth crowd.
