News emanating from the Lagos State Police Command indicate that the police have intensified probe into the delivery of a suspicious parcel containing live ammunition to the residence of FirstBank Nigeria’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Olusegun Alebiosu.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, disclosed this on Tuesday during a press briefing, revealing that the incident was reported on May 7, 2026, after a security guard at the bank executive’s residence received the package.
According to Fatai, the parcel was later opened and discovered to contain two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, describing the development as a serious and highly suspicious matter.
“Presently, I can confirm to you that the matter is still under investigation. It is a serious case, and the investigation needs to be thorough,” the commissioner said.
Fatai explained that no suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, although Alebiosu had provided the names of individuals he suspected could be linked to the delivery.
“Even though the MD has mentioned some people who he suspected of being the brains behind it, that remains his suspicion. We are still working on it,” he added.
The police commissioner said investigations were ongoing to identify those behind the act and uncover the motive behind the delivery of the ammunition parcel.
