Last Saturday, one of the Big Boys making waves in the haulage sector of the United States of America, Ganiyu Odubanku, buried his father, Alhaji Abdul Waheed Odubanko, who died on May 15, 2021 in grand style.
The late Odunbaku even in death cuts a perfect portrait of loveliness and humanity at its finest. Like a renaissance artist intoxicated by the muse, his son, Ganiyu and other children left behind, chose to paint beautiful and everlasting pictures in memory of their father.
Like tiny droplets that precede the hammering rain, guests meandered into the spacious Police College, IKeja, Lagos ground, venue of the burial ceremony and indeed had fun as they were pampered with sumptuous meal and exotic drinks.
Guests who had travelled to Lagos from far and near in honour of the Odunbankus left after the ceremony with indelible splendid memories.
On the band stand to entertain guests was one of the top rated fuji musicians, Aare Shina Akanni who kept most guests on their feet throughout the party by ditching out scintillating fuji songs.
Ganiyu’s beautiful wife was all over the place supervising the hired caterers to ensure the party went well.
At hand to support one of their own are members of the 1984 set of Metropolitan College, Isolo, Lagos, they came in large number to honour a jolly good fellow.
Unknown to many, Ganiyu has been in the road haulage sector in the US for over a decade and he is indeed doing well for himself.
