More facts have emerged on why popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and veteran filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan are not on speaking terms
According to Afolayan while speaking on Arise TV, Akindele charged ₦3.5m per scene when she was contacted to play a role in his movie titled
‘Anikukapo’ and he had to settle for another actress to play the role.
Afolayan disclosed that he had approached Akindele to play Queen Arolake in his hit film Aníkúlápó.
He said the actress demanded ₦3.5 million per scene for the role, a fee he declined, leading him to cast another actress.
According to Afolayan, communication between them broke down after production began, despite meeting occasionally at industry events.
He added that when he later reached out to congratulate her on a recent success, she allegedly asked him not to speak to her or mention her name again.
Days back, Funke Akindele was in the news for the wrong reasons. She reportedly snubbed her colleague Toyin Abraham at Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere.
Funke was seated at the same table with Iyabo and another actress, Mercy Aigbe, when Toyin came over to greet them.
Although Iyabo and Mercy responded to her greetings, Funke looked away, completely ignoring her.
Toyin was left embarrassed by the incident and walked away from the table.
