Could the damaged Kugbo terminal be as a result of usage of sub- standard materials by the contractors who handled the construction? this was the question pertinently asked by Abuja residents following the destruction of the multi-billion Naira Kugbo bus terminal built by Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Bus Terminal was inaugurated in June 2025 and described during its commissioning as “a state of the art” edifice by the FCT Minister.

However, the rain which came with a wind storm on Tuesday, damaged the roof and other structures of the of the Bus Terminal which yet to be put into use.

The debris of the destroyed property were littered on the major Abacha Barrack-Nyanya-Keffi ever busy trunk ‘A’ road, a development that further compounded the chaotic traffic situation for workers and other citizens that were returning home after a busy day at work on Tuesday.

The damaged Bus Terminal also damaged some vehicles that were caught in traffic.
