Students at the Ruthwiphdale inter house sports competition

The first Ruthwiphdale inter house sports competition organized by Ruthwiphdale School Ipaja, proved to be more than a sports contest; it was an outstanding display of sportsmanship, glamour teamwork and disciple throughout the event which took place at Command Secondary School Ipaja.
The competing houses-Yellow house sponsored by Lt. Col. & Mrs Omoyeni; Blue house , sponsored by Mr & Mrs Abodunrin; and Green House, sponsored by Mr & Mrs Abraham, and
Purple House sponsored by Mr & Mrs Odetola slugged it out in such games as egg race, 50 metres, picking of balls, big slippers, 70 metres,100 metres, sack race and other interesting contests to the sonorous chimes of the Army Band, which provided entertainment. The inter house competition was the first of its kind in 15 years.
At the end of it Yellow house came first, while
Blue House came second,
Green house was third winner, followed by Purple house which came fourth.
One of the highlights of the game was the participation of parents and teaching staff in the keen contest as they were splintered into different houses. The Lagos state Teakwando representative ( sports ambassador) Sabon Hassan Rasheedat said ” the parents and teachers participation added colour and glamour to the game.
The Lagos Commissioner for youths and social development, Mr. Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende through a representative praised the organisers and the participants for high spirit of sportsmanship displayed.
Yellow house sponsored by Lt col Omoyeni stole the show with a brilliant display of sportsmanship, but on the whole, it was a keenly contested inter house competition.
The school proprietress, Mrs Adenike Odetola in her closing remarks ” acknowledged the dedication and hardwork of the organizing committee, our esteemed patrons, the house masters and house mistresses, officiating officials, distinguished guests and our highly valued parents.
