Flights from countries that impose travel ban on Nigerians will not be allowed Nigeria’s airspace and Nigerian travelers can only go to countries where there are no existing travel ban when the authorities resume international flights on September 5, 2020.

This much was disclosed by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika. He added that Nigeria will resume post-COVID-19 flights, at two of the nation’s airports, Abuja and Lagos.

It will be recalled that most countries, amid the COVID-19 pandemic shut their airspaces and closed their borders since March. Some of them are reopening their airspaces and borders but with a lot of restrictions.

Britain has Nigeria on its travel ban, same as the US

For instance Nigeria was conspicuously missing in the exempt list of countries and territories drawn by UK.

In Africa, only the islands of Mauritius, Reunion, St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha are on the list.
