The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded arrangements to continue investigations into the N1.68 billion illegal assets allegedly traced the Lagos State Commissioner Tourism, Arts and Culture, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf,
Contrary to insinuations that the anti-corruption agency has abandoned investigations on the matter, (going by the snail speed at which the matter was handled) NATIONAL WAVES gathered that the ICPC has not abandoned the matter. It has commenced investigations into the N1.68 billion illegal properties allegedly acquired by the commissioner.
It will be recalled that the ICPC beamed its searchlight on the commissioner for her alleged involvement in the illegal assets acquisitions, amounting to N1.68 billion.
The ICPC disclosed that it is still investigating the matter, with a promise to make its findings public soon. This much was revealed by the spokesperson of the ICPC, Mrs. Azuka Chinelo Ogugua.
As at the time of filing this report, the commissioner was yet to reply a short note dropped with her secretary at her Alausa, Ikeja office asking her to respond to the allegation.
